3 luxe daily rituals

by team nuut

are you a creature of habit? feel like you need to shake things up? same.

today we’re stealing ideas (think bathing routine, scented pillow and old school mouth wash) from super glamourous people. if it works for them, we’re giving it a twirl.

bathe and sip

designer tom ford bathes three times a day and likes to sip a tall glass of iced espresso while in his morning bath. we’re on board!

Ingredients:
1 sachet nuut
300ml water
3 almonds (for crunch)
espresso
lots of ice
cacao nibs
What to do:
blitz ingredients and sprinkle with caffeine-boosting cacoa nibs.
scented sleep

as legend has it, style icon and harper’s bazaar editor diana vreeland injected perfume in her pillows with a syringe. how very glamourous!

trouble falling asleep? we’re substituting perfume with essential oils to help lull us to into a deep slumber. look to soothing scents like clary sage, lavender and camomile. we’re eyeing a slip silk pillow case, sleep trio by eco modern essentials and dream dive by aromatherapy lab.

oil pulling

gwyneth paltrow uses an old school dental practice called oil pulling that involves moving a tablespoon of oil around in your mouth for 10 to 20 minutes. the technique, which must be done on an empty stomach, is said to help improve oral health, remove toxins, boost immune system, and heals cracked lips.

oil pulling in 3 easy steps

1. swish the oil around in your mouth for 10-20 minutes. the volume doubles over time because of all the saliva you’re releasing.
2. spit out the oil into the bin (not the sink or you’ll risk clogging it up).
3. rinse your mouth with salt water and brush your teeth. repeat 3-5 times a week.

we love this goop tip too – combine coconut oil, peppermint and cinnamon essential oils, pour them in moulds, and refrigerate. pop them out into a mason jar and keep it in the fridge.
